Semi-related tangent: This makes me think of all these new cars running around in traffic turning themselves off. I would also guess that it was power saving mode and, in my experience, powering off/on drives is usually when they fail on me so I've always set mine (on my personal computers) to never turn off. I wonder if it was just aggressive power saving settings that resulted in all those power on/off cycles.ĭrive letter indicates that it was not a boot drive. Very slow drive, I can't imagine how miserable Windows 10 would have been on that system if it was her boot drive!
